State Sen. Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald, whose 28th District includes Giles and other counties, has received a 100 percent voting record from the National Federation of Small Business (NFIB) for working to promote and protect small businesses.
The NFIB scored members of the 111th General Assembly on important bills considered during the 2019-2020 legislative sessions, including tax, tort, labor, regulatory and health care reform issues.
“Small businesses are and will continue to be the backbone of our state’s economy,” Hensley said.
“It is imperative that we do all we can to foster them, especially during a time when so many are suffering from the economic impact of the pandemic. I’m honored to have received this rating from NFIB, and remain committed to fighting for small businesses in the Tennessee General Assembly.”
“Senator Hensley’s flawless NFIB Voting Record in 2019-2020 demonstrated a dedicated commitment to protecting small businesses in his district,” NFIB Tennessee State Director Jim Brown said.
“He unquestionably is a true friend of small business and is helping Tennessee entrepreneurs survive, grow and thrive.”
Hensley also is a past recipient of NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award, the most prestigious honor that the organization gives legislators.
Besides Giles, other counties in the 28th District are Maury, Lawrence, Wayne. Perry and Lewis.
