Hayley Rutledge, a senior at Giles County High School, was recognized as recipient of the Accepting the Challenge of Excellence Award from the Pulaski Exchange Club.
The club awards a $1,000 scholarship annually to a high school senior who overcomes difficulties in life to succeed. Receipt of the award is alternated annually to students at Giles County High or Richland schools,
Rutledge plans to attend Columbia State Community College, major in veterinary medicine and earn a master’s degree in zoology at Union University,
Among those attending were Rutledge’s grandfather, Dan Turner; Jonna Owens-Lee, guidance counselor at Giles County High School and Hannah Posey, assistant principal at Giles County High School.
